Our client required their gym studios to receive a full face lift, which would help motivate their members, and create an environment which demonstrated an area of activity. The painted walls would be replaced with fresh, well-designed seamless graphics. Through discussion with the client, a site survey, by our professional fitters, was recommended. The close inspection proved that the walls were not in good condition, and would require re-skimming, if we were to print and install self-adhesive vinyl, or one of the standard brands of wallpaper. These standard substrates would prove too thin and would show every imperfection on the wall. Through discussion, once again with the client, it was agreed that we would print onto a thicker wallpaper called Digimura HARDY. Digimura HARDY is 455gsm wallpaper that has a Type 2 wall covering accreditation, which guarantees it has passed all the tests for high traffic areas and, very importantly, has a Class A fire rating. The same kind of wallpaper is used within the McDonald’s ‘fast-food’ outlets.
The wallpaper covered all of the imperfections in the walls and looked, in the words of the client, ‘amazing’. This wallpaper is truly fit for purpose.
